Was very sad to hear of the passing of Chris who did so many wonderful sand sculptures for years on Caleta beach. He was a true character and we last saw him in April at El Capitans when we had a chat and a drink... RIP Chris ... I'm sure many of us have pics of his sculptures, truly brilliant.

Was he Spanish hev?
Probably a stupid question
No, he was English, from down south somewhere.
I can remember when Hippopark closed down (the kids play park where the market is now) he lived in the bouncy castle for about a year till they pulled it all down ;D )
Apparently he was squatting in an empty house at Beach Villas, where his body was found after lying there for 2 weeks.
It wouldn't surprise me he was squatting Woe but I doubt he'd been there 2 weeks as he had a very wide network of friends and was down El Capitans most days when he'd finished his sculpting.... I think one of them may have noticed he hadn't been around. And yes I do know he went down south for a short time on the beaches but had been back in Caleta quite a while.
Hev, That was from the person who found him.
Ah right, my apologies then Woe, that's very sad.
is that the same guy that was stopped performing his artistry thru' the usual Spanish red tape %rap because he'd no "license" sad for the poor chap and very sad to hear of his passing. :(
Oh what a shame, he was always on Caleta when we came here first.
