thanks in advance
Hi Roar of the Rovers, we used this when we had one in the terrace drain. Not the cheapest, but it seems to have done the job, as none seen since.

Instant Cucal 750 ml
Cockroaches and their eggs, and ants.
Cucal Instant is a new generation insecticide that eliminates both ants and cockroaches and their eggs instantly. In addition to its strong immediato effect, Cucal leaves a thin protective film that prolongs the effectiveness of the product for weeks and prevents the entry of new cockroaches.
WE bought some plug-in insect repellents from Amazon called "Vermatic" that were recommended by a neighbour, about £16 each, very effective, they will not ship to here had them delivered to our daughter who shipped them on
Bi have one of those electronic insect repellent things aswell Roar. Seems to do the trick. A bit more expensive but you can just plug a couple in then forget about it.
cheers for all that will tell the friends who are in our place to try the cucal ,where do you get the electronic insect repellent plug ins from in Corrie?,they can also try them
thanks
Hi Roar there is an amazing product called Preben. You buy it in the Ferreterias. You spray it once a year and the job is done. It really stinks though so the spraying is best done when you are leaving the premises vacant for a while. It really works.
The Cockroaches usually breed at the back of the fridge. Also they like to breed under the kitchen presses so if you can spray or look there too that should cover all angles. The eggs are quite big about the size of a womans little finger nail so can easily be seen.
Happy hunting ;)
Zoom or Zum spray. There are others. They last a year. Euro Spar at Caleta de Fuste and Saavedra in PR have plenty to choose from. Spray around windows and doors outside, down vents including cooked hood vents and any other places where there are "holes".
Thank you for your help ;D
Zum is very good - just remember to spray, then go out for a while, as it STINKS!!!
Got someone going around today ,once again thank you for your help, ;D
You ought to be doing a Zum or similar spray around the entire place on a regular basis, just like the council do. They'll never go away for good but getting people in is costly. They only do the same thing anyway, I would imagine.
The community had a professional company in about a month ago as they do annually, but then saw more cockroaches than we had before, hence the purchase of The Vermatic,s
Communities where you pay a community fee ought to fumigate on a regular basis. For individual apartments or stand alone prperties regular zuming or similar is usually enough.

That's normal if your place is unprotected. The cockroaches flee the drains and other common areas and find refuge indoors. But if your place is out of bounds too...
i know they do fumigation on Tamaragua has we get notification of it, but what they actually do that i dont know.

The leaflet we got gave a date and a time, that the process was going to commence, made quite an issue of the process being harmful, to The elderly young children and pets, we spent the day out of the property, and on our return there was no sign of anything having happened, but as I said in a previous post we have seen more since than before, but in fairness not immediately after the fumigation, and we do not see them now.
