Hi all just booked some flights to come back out on may the 10th. In the past ive always flown with Thomas Cook or Monarch, this will be the first time with Ryanair is there any thing I should be aware of.Also has anybody had any dealings with either clicktransfers.co.uk or vivatransfers.com.to get from airport to resort. Thanks in advance Chris.
Follow the rules and you'll be fine.
Baggage size.
Check in online and print out your boarding pass.
If you have a smartphone, using the Ryanair app, checking in on it and using it to show your boarding pass works very well. It saves finding somewhere to print it.
For your cabin luggage you can have a standard cabin size bag to stow in the locker and a small bag (handbag or similar) for your bits and pieces for during the flight.
The coffee served onboard is very good.
We've used Ryanair for the last couple of trips and now think they're better than TC (not that that's a great recommendation).
Read thoroughly the terms and conditions in particular the sections relating to Baggage Allowance and Online Check in .
.
Thanks duncolm, l have down loaded the Ryanair app and im sure it will prove very useful.
Bring a spare lock and key for your hand luggage as only the first 90 bags are guaranteed room in the cabin. The rest are put in the hold free of charge. Because of this there is still a rush to form a queue at the gate even though your seat is now allotted to you. :)
The 90 includes the people with priority boarding. Those with priority get on first so if you don't have priority there is a good chance you might get your bag checked.
Became "Ryanair Regulars" two years ago, and frankly were terrified (having read all the nightmare stories about baggage rules, poor customer service etc....), but decided we needed to "give it a go" (at least once in a life-time).
Doubt if we will ever return to Thos. Cook, Monarch, Thomson etc.
Simple rules to follow:
1. Read the rules on baggage and stick to them 100%.
2. Think of it more like 'catching a bus', rather than a flight (e.g. queuing up at the gate etc...).
3. Pay for anything on board with Euros not Pounds (the exchange rate on-board is £1 = â,¬1).
4. Always pre-book your seat.
5. Always check-in on line and print your boarding pass (or use the app).
6. If you travel with hand luggage only, don't queue up at check-in, go direct to security & departure.
Funny thing happened to us this month, I checked in online and we were given priority boarding seats without paying for them. It happened on both legs, don't know why. As someone who's quite happy not to pay extra to sit together this was a bit of a luxury, especially as we'd hand luggage only and were among the first to get off.
Anyway, I agree with most of what Logitechtom said but don't think he's quite right when he says the exchange rate on-board is £1 = â,¬1. I only bought a coffee but it was £2.50 or â,¬3.
Our family have used Ryanair from the UK to Fuerteventura for the last several years. We book about 30 flights a year between us from London, Manchester, Birmingham and Liverpool. They are the best on price, punctuality and we have had one way flights at £10.Customer service is now there main priority so last 10 flights we have not even had our cabin bags weighed. Happy Days

Exactly...Ryanair have improved 100% since we started flying with them and it's all down to customer service and flexibility. Recently I have never experienced them weighing or measuring bags, so of course some people now abuse this and come onboard with ridiculous sized baggage.
The extra small bag also makes a huge difference - I take a small laptop bag as well as the trolley bag.

Certain seats I think are automatically given priority boarding, so if you happen to be allocated one of these seats you will get priority boarding I think.

I have noticed some silly sized bags being brought as hand luggage. They need to knock that on the head asap before it gets out of hand. Email Sir Micheal.
The case sizes are important. The main hand bag should not weigh more than 10 kilos. The small bag has no weight restriction so is ideal for heavy items like gold bars.
On my last two trips the handling company have made random selections in the boarding queue to give out "Hold" baggage labels. No telling who gets the dreaded yellow tag and you then have to wait at the other end for your bag at the carousel!
Ryanair have improved drastically over the years. couple of years back had to cancel flights as my wife was diagnosed with cancer. Didnt even have to go through our insurance, Ryanair made full refund with copy of medical letter. Holiday with Thomas Cook that we had to cancel didnt go as smoothly , had to go through insurance, took ages and didnt get full refund. Couldnt fault Ryanair at all
Much. Prefer to fly with Ryan air if possible.
Thomas cook awful especially if they put you on their condor flights - though I believe condor has now been renamed or something.
I think we've only ever flown once with another airline (TC) other than RA..it's the cheapest I can find out of Stansted, the flight times are great and although I only have short legs it has more than enough leg room (hubbys legs a bit longer) We fly to Fue 5 or 6 times a year..we dont want a meal, we dont want a movie, we CERTAINLY dont want reclining seats in front of us..and I honestly cant remember the last time I ever had my hand luggage weighed or measured.. RA every time for us ;D 8) 8)
That is the only problem with Ryanair, you bump into RifRaf, especially out of Stanstead!
Hi our son flew out from Dublin on the 30th December, went to board with his boarding app crew said there system is down for reading app, so charged him 45 euro, because he didn't have paper boarding pass. >:( :'(
There is a ryan air plane circling around manchester burning fuel off at the moment after declaring an emergency ,it had taken off for malaga
It has just landed and is taxiing to terminal so all is well. :D

riffraff.....STANSTED!
It was a bird strike
i find it very hard to believe the lad being charged â,¬45 because ryanair's system was down for the iphone boarding pass, beside's the "bar coding square" all the detail's are also on it, your name, your ref num. seat num date and sequance for checking in, surely none of this can be denied if their system is down, it's their fault not yours.

I agree with blue fox, I find it very had to understand how RA would charge you when you have an electronic boarding pass just because their electronic system was down, how then did they read the rest of the bar codes ?.
Surely there was more than Sean J's sone with electronic boarding pass.
We had a situation about 2-3 years ago where my wife's boarding pass when printed did not print the bar code for some reaso, and we never spotted it, we just went go the RA desk and there was no problem issuing a new boarding pass.
RA have changed their approach to customers and become very customer friendly and focused, though some people like to find any opportunity to knock them, they have revolutionised European flights and forced down the price of travel in general, just remember you get what it says on the tin, play by the flex and you won't have a problem.
