Title: Who's airplane?
Post by: cockney on March 16, 2016, 17:34:46 PM
A small single engine plane has flown low over Corralejo Bay today. It is painted Yellow with Red wing tips. It was flying very low and I would estimate about 50 foot. It barely cleared the old town and was much lower than the turbine blades. Does anybody know who's it is? Is there a height limit for flying over a populated area?

I saw this too, it came in from the south over Villaverde and as you say was extremely low, can't believe this meets any regulations.

I read it somewhere last year the councils were doing a survey of illegal builds/extensions to raise revenues on the island and they employed a contractor that used a yellow plane.
Could be, just saying

Well, if that is the case, then there will be no rules or regulations!!

Can confirm this is not a wind up.  We were on our terrace and watched a twin engine plane approach from the south towards the lighthouse then out to sea and came back parallel to the main road of the village then of East  towards Lajares at about a height of 250 feet.

Last week we were sitting on our terrace minding our own business when a microlight flew past at virtually eye level and it was nice to be acknowledged as we waved to him!!! ;D ;D

Fairly sure this wasn't looking for illegal builds, I've seen that before but this just made one pass and it was so low and fast it couldn't have recorded much at all.

I was  not suggesting the original post was a wind up, but that Waggies post was!
