Just at home in England watching the above on channel 4 Seven , Fuerteventura looks fantastic can't wait to return.
Even better in the flesh 8) 8) 8)
We are on countdown a few more days and we will be there.
The place in the sun episode was from 2012 and focused on the north of the Island, not been there yet can't wait to travel up north of island.
The north and south of the island are equally friendly in different ways.
We find the north more laid-back and suitable for our style but we can appreciate that many people find it a bit of a slum and not to their taste.
Each to his own.

Corralejo 'a slum'?............Caleta a'ghetto'? ;D
Where ever you go there is good and bad in every town and village.
Fuerteventura is a beautiful place from what we have seen as I said earlier can't wait to discover the rest of the island.
It could be worse you could be here stuck in England (a country I adore)with the wind and rain.
Enjoy the sunshine and
Happy New year to you all!!!!!

Not my opinion but I have has it so described by some posters in another forum.
I think they were looking for an updated Benidorm.
The centre of the Island is the Gateway, from where you can choose to turn up or down.
The north of the Island, - Corralejo, El Cotillo - I prefer to call "Less sophisticated" and "More real".
The south - Jandia, Morro Jable - "Highly developed" and "Flashy, could be any modern Spanish resort".
I'm allowing for the fact that most holidaymakers, particularly 'packagers' don't get out of resort and see what is around them. If they did they'd realise they're surrounded by natural beauty, regardless of where on Fuerteventura they've chosen to be.

That reminds me...the new series starts on 11th January...not to be missed, hilarious!😂😊😂😂
We have been visiting Fuerteventura for the past 15 years and seen it change....some for the better... some for the worse but, still love it. We are out there again for 9 weeks in January and can't wait. :D
Back in Fuerte on the 11th Jan for ten days, love the place and never get tired of visiting after 20 odd years of doing so,virtually our 2nd home, this next week is going to drag......
