I'm guessing that you live in Fuerte? If so, you might want to consider buying a potted Araucaria tree (relative of the Monkey Puzzle). It's a popular tree in many gardens here although they do need a good bit of space when planted out and shouldn't be anywhere near foundations, pipes, pools etc. A good quality one will look very similar to a traditional Christmas tree.

I bought one of those in a 3-inch pot and planted it in my little Tamaragua garden. It's still smaller than me but growing fast. I've been told it has to go so if anyone would like to PM me they can come and take it away.

Saw some Araucaria in pots in Happy Plants today. They also had some other species which while not a 'proper' Christmas tree would look very similar when decorated. They can then be a feature in your garden (still in a pot) and used again next year so would become a cost effective solution.
