Title: The New ITV - El Matorral
Post by: woe10 on September 16, 2015, 18:41:42 PM
Should be opening in October, in front of Fran y Chemi fruit and veg place.
Promising a better service, well they can't be any worse than that miserable lot in Antigua. Let's wait and see.

Personally we've had no problems with the one in Antigua. Is Antigua closing when the new one is built or is the new one an additional facility?

Hopefully now we can get Coronation Street in HD next time we're over then.
Do you know if they will have ITV2+1?

This is an additional facility. The laws have changed whereby private companies can run places, once the domain of the Government only. ( hence the miserable faces ).
The downside is, it opens the door for dodgey dealings and back-handers, whereby with the Government run ITV, this was hardly possible.

Don't be surprised if one doesn't open in Corralejo and Jandia.

Brightspark:  You can get ITV2+1 on Filmon.

It could cut both ways.

May be possible to get a ticket with a couple of bits overlooked  ;)  ;)

Being private, they may be looking for extra repair work and finding spurious faults  :o  :o

A bit like the UK before the new computerised tests. (and some of the chain test centres even now)

More or less what I meant. It will happen.

Presumably, they won't be allowed to do any repairs themselves, will they? In France, you're either a test centre or a service centre, never both.

No, but your brother down the road, can.

Sure, but I don't suppose they've been scam-free in the past either. Where there are people...

In the UK, if you want an honest test doing and you want to know the car is roadworthy, book it in at your local council depot, most have the MOT test facility. Certainly no possible repair scams there ..Can`t say whether they all smile a lot or not though  :-*
