I've just been asked by a Hotel Receptionist, when all these "Horrible British People" are leaving.
I told her tomorrow, Wednesday, should see the last of the drog, chav, obese, benefits street, happy hour seeking trailer trash. that descend on Caleta in August. Each year is getting worse. Why don't these people go to Benidorm, or Rhyl. Caleta used to be such a special place. I know bars that have closed in August because they don't want them.
Next week, you will see a different place. Bring back the old days.

Must all be in caleta then as I've not seen any in corralejo. Must be the place that attracts them.
They just blend in more in Corralejo :P
They are the reason we always leave the island in august.
If their behaviour in Corralejo doesn't attract Holierthanthous attention........

Do away with all inclusive hotels that will cut down on all day drinking

No idea what you are all talking about. Spent 3 days in a corrie hotel and all clients well behaved including the brits. Nights out in the town nice and sedate with no aggro from any particular nationality. Onwards to our village and the same there. So all in all I'd say the brits aren't letting the side down any more than anyone Else.
If we are going to stereotype lets do it properly...
Champagne Charlies in the north , krauts in the south..lashed up tattoo ridden northerners in the middle. Lol.
Talk about generalised sweeping statements and stereotyping ,We have stayed in Caleta a number of times during August and haven't witnessed beer drinking chavs, maybe we are frequenting the wrong "dives" :P..
Nb : I'm a non lashed up northerner, with zero body art.....
Just back from a week in Caleta (Our first time in August, although we have been over many times in the last 4 years). I actually noticed far fewer Brits on holiday and noticeably more Spanish. It wasn't as busy as I had been led to believe.
For the record, I am a northerner, no tattoos, no piercings and non beer drinker.
There are a few of us sensible northerners
Think we should change the title to horrible forumites :'(
Pity of it is we don't have a little more loyalty to our own full stop. The brits have their wrong 'us that's for sure. But so do the rest. I've holiday'd abroad for 45 years or so and seen more than my fair share of noisy rowdy arrogant drunken and downright rude Germans eyeties Dutch and Spaniards to name but a few. Don't even get me started on the young Scandinavians i winessed in a majorcan hotel once. Too many enjoy brit bashing on here while conveniently dismissing the sometimes anti social behaviour of the other nations.
Talking to a friend last night, who rents her Apartment out. She had a call from the cleaners that she'd better come out. Whoever was in there the last week of August wrecked the place. Torn all the curtains, broke the bed, etc ..
She has now taken it off the rental website. Never again.
What nationality were they,
What I find intriguing is how many people on this forum would have been up in arms if this thread had read horrible Spanish people

Which bars have closed because they don't want Brits? Just curious so that i can avoid them.
Also i seem to remember someone saying they personally knew apartment owners who had rental licences. Is this fact?
Not us at Barstuds or the Trafalgar we're packed with them, not a bad one amongst them.
Too right whyme, i haven't experienced any badly behaved Brits in Caleta.
Re :where are they going to go thread. Brits could well be the least of the canaries future problems. In fact bar owners could be looking back on their presence with dewy eyed nostalgia.

I don't know of any bars that have closed in Caleta in August. It's been packed with a real buzz about the place with tourists from all over Europe. . A few big UK families having fun but no trouble so what they are on holiday. Get to the UK if you want to see low life in action there are millions of them.
If you think that British tourists are horrible, try doing Russians. They out obnoxiate the the tattooed, larger swilling, Iner-lund supporting, tricky wearing Brit, before he has had time to tuck into his full English.

They only closed for August while the Chavs and their nightmare kids were here :'(
The trespaso is for sale on that Italian place on the corner, opposite the Step Inn. It's had 3 different owners in one year. If you're mental enough to fork out â,¬40,000 it's all yours :o
Who are 'they'?
Come on, answer the question, you are beginning to sound like a politician. ;)
A tattooed and pierced couple are on their way a week next Wednesday. We hope we'll be welcome.
Depends on where your going ;) ;) :)
Not Caleta
Never mind.
Been back nearly a week now and we had a morning in Caleta, walking along the pathway on the beach, and what I found more annoying was the people whizzing up and down on those scooters ::)
Was glad to get back to Corralejo ;D 8)
Bet it was tricky navigating past them in your stilettos

and don't forget gin louts
We at Legends in Caleta closed for the whole of August, after 16 years of trading we have found that that month is the quietest we have, as the resort is mainly families and young kids, and they don't want what we do....60's music.... No probs, each to their own :) .... We are busy enough for the rest of the year, so are very glad of the break by the time August comes round!!! ;D
Cheers, Kelly xx :-*

Do you do karaoke?
Woe is looking for a night out
I've been coming to Caleta three times a year or more for many years now.In that time i have only met a handful of drunken idiots,of all nationalities. That's why we keep returning. I don't know any bars that close because of horrible British people.I know Legends closes, but as Kelly has said that's for different reasons. So what bars do close for this reason?
ditto Corralejo. Don't think i've ever seen anyone really plastered in the place although we are rarely in the town after 11pm unless with friends so it may all kick off after that. In fact i'll have to have a quiet word with the mrs...her couple of glasses of vino blanco make her look like the town drunk.

Well, we were welcomed and served everywhere we went, same as our last 9 visits. Never saw any 'horrible people' walking around, either.
We kept to El Cotillo, Corralejo and a day trip to Gran Tarajal, though.
we're more sophisticated north of rosario. :-*
Been here in caleta for 15 months now, never seen any horrible tourist of any nationality.
I have seen some poor behaviour from locals though.
I am sure Correlejo is a northern town.
I am from Yorkshire no tats love beer.
