Having been to Caleta more than a dozen times in the last 5 years I have suddenly developed acute memory loss, looking to book a car from Orlando for our next visit, who are based in Castillo area of Caleta, I cannot for the life of me remember where in Caleta they are situated, how far from the Barceló Hotel are they.
Thanks in advance CM
You would be better off sticking with the dementia Chester! ;D Take a look in the car hire section for some better options
Orlando office is situated opp FadoRock/under Flower of Scotland bar

Maybe there should be a dementia section on the forum..
Thanks Magoo and Fatherted, read some of the reviews in the car hire section, think I will stock to Hertz rather than Orlando
Don't go with Hertz either. A rip-off, same with Avis.
The most trusted by most people is Pluscar, at the Airport Roundabout.
Thanks Woe, will check out their website.
We did Pluscar last year, because our regular supplier Cicar had jacked up their prices. It's a bit odd doing what seems like a shady deal in the car park, but I couldn't fault them. New car with no fuel or extra driver scam.
The "return protocol" had me somewhat worried, but the guy happened to be there & set my mind at rest
I must admit, at first, I thought the post was a wind-up.
Probably, that is one bit of your memory best left lost. I can't recall seeing a positive review of Orlando, Goldcar, Avis or Hertz, though they probably do exist. Somewhere.
To the best of my knowledge, the big names - Avis, Hertz et al are just franchise operations, paying high fees for the use of the name and advertising. The franchisors tend not to be very keen to take up complaints about the franchisees. I had a bad experience with the Southampton operation a while back, and from what I learnt on that occasion, it stopped me using those companies ever again.
Stick with what everyone's recommending.

Not a wind up honest just realised That I asked the same question in early April in the car hire section, going to stick with best choice car hire, time for my medication.
Look out for a new Hertz spin off called "Firefly". Not only do they have the normal fuel and insurance rip offs but charge 19,00 Euro plus VAT for a "fuel service charge". I've tried to get an explanation and the contact details of their Chief Exec. Got nowhere. Their Ts & Cs as printed so small they are impossible to read with the human eye!
Not in Fuerte yet, I was ripped off in Barcelona
I used Thrifty when I was out last week. Same office and cars as Hertz, but cheaper. I picked the car up at the airport and dropped it off at the Caleta office. I paid £48 for 4 days and got a newish VW Polo.
Get your own collision/excess insurance though, mine was half the price Hertz/Thrifty wanted.
