How to Watch a Solar Eclipse
Never look at the sun directly -- doing so can damage your eyes. The best way to observe the sun is by projecting the image. Here is one way to project the sun's image:
Get two pieces of cardboard (flaps from a box, backs of paper tablets).
With a pin or pencil point, poke a small hole in the center of one piece (no bigger than the pin or pencil point).
Take both pieces in your hand.
Stand with your back to the sun.
In one hand, hold the piece with the pinhole; place the other piece (the screen) behind it.
The sunlight will pass through the pinhole and form an image on the screen (see How does a pinhole camera work? for details on this process).
Adjust the distance between the two pieces to focus and change the size of the image.

I don't think we get totality here, so there will be a very bright bit of sun round the moon disc, so videoing might be risky both to the camera and to the operator. I remember in 99 we viewed it through a welding mask which was perfect.
the weather forecast is not good manana, heavy rain, so probably clouded over. :(
unfortunately i was right, at least here in c/antuiga, i got to see almost half of the eclipse but then completely clouded over, it did'nt seem to go to dark tho', now half an hour later hardly a cloud in the sky, typical, because i won't see it again in my lifetime, unless i live till 95, doubtful ! oh well. :(
Here in Scotland the cloud was so thick I couldn't even tell where in the sky the sun was. It did get quite dark though.

You will be a young 75 then BS so no reason why you wont see the 2090 eclipse, guess the rest of us will be pushing up the daisy's... ???
