Title: Plane Aborts Landing In The Wind.
Post by: woe10 on November 28, 2014, 18:21:37 PM
It's blowing a gale out there. I drove past the airport and a plane was coming in. It was all over the place. Just before touchdown it went nose up and carried on. Don't know where it went because I didn't see it again. Maybe to Lanzarote.

Flights have been diverted from Lanzarote to Fuerteventura today because of the high winds.

We saw that today as well. We were in the car park at IKEA
when it screamed over. Probably a good decision by the crew
as it was all over the place.

Had to fight against the wind and rain to get to the Zanzibar earlier, It must be tough flying a plane in this wind, I could be stuck here for a while ðŸ˜,,

Gust of force 10 at the airport earlier this evening. Cross wind too, so nasty!

Not sure there's any anenometers/wind data from elsewhere on the island - clearly the wind turbines will have them but I'd guess the data isn't available.
