Once you have checked in on line and printed this document off you have an A4 sized sheet of paper, one third of which is an advert, one third is bags and departure info and the last third is the boarding pass with flight number, seat number and bar codes. I was thinking of cutting off the advert and bag/departure info, this would make it a lot easier to put the important bit into my wallet. Do you think this would be o.k. or might it somehow invalidate the boarding pass?

Daft as it sounds I could also print off a "spare", then if the cut down version gets rejected I can produce an unmodified copy. Don`t see why not , do you?
A few months since I used Easyjet. Does the top section also have the seat number and flight details? If so, then you will need to show it as you board the plane - bottom section at boarding gate, top section for flight crew to check.
Talking of boarding passes....... Printed mine off for outward and inbound and all ok in Liverpool check in, but coming home from Fuerte presented them at the check in desk and heho was given a new boarding card. ;D
Yes, but if you are hand luggage only you don't have to queue at check in and can go straight to the gate. You can check in online with Norwegian too for the flight out 24 hours in advance, but not yet for the return, where you still have to queue. They say they are working on it.
I've used http://www.pdfescape.com/open/ (http://www.pdfescape.com/open/) to 'whiteout' the annoying ads..doesn't cut down on the physical size of the A4 printout, but at least you're not paying for ink to clutter up the document with ads for companies you'll never use. The online version is free to use. IIRC at least one of the 'No frills' carriers stipulate the boarding card must be printed on a single A4 sheet so cutting it down may not be an option. Scissors are also a no-go with RYR, as the ads are tucked in between the Boarding Pass and the tear off receipt.
Well, I decided to try it. I sliced off the adverts and just used the bit with all the relevant data on it. The slimmed down boarding card never got so much as a raised eyebrow, all they wanted to do was scan the bar code, they didn`t seem interested in anything else. The boarding card was far easier to handle as it fitted neatly in between the photograph pages of the passport. speaking of passports, I also used the self scanning biometric entry system at Manchester terminal one, easy to do and avoided a huge queue.
