Title: Taxi from El Cotillo to Corralejo
Post by: bevlos on May 11, 2014, 16:59:04 PM
Hi does anyone know where the taxi rank is in El Cotillo and how much it is roughly to Corralejo? I have a hire car but if i go out and have a drink i would rather cough up for a taxi rather than a fine. Thanks in advance.

Not sure I would describe it as a taxi rank, but I have seen a taxi lurking by the football ground. I don't know that you can just turn up & expect it to be there on demand.
We had a taxi from Corrie to Cotillo a while back & it cost 26 Euros. Someone else may have a more up to date price.

Far better catching the bus to Corrie then taxi back to el Cotillo, you could spend the whole evening waiting for a taxi out of Cotillo as there are no taxis based there.

based on the price list on Tamaragua its €18.50 to Cotillo and i think it said €6.50 to Corrie  so at rough guess €25  ;D

Taxi company, he say 25€: http://www.taxiscorralejo.com/en/prices/ (http://www.taxiscorralejo.com/en/prices/)

That's the price before 10pm, but it doesn't seem much more expensive after, from our experience (which is quite considerable on the Corralejo/Tamaragua route).

We would probably drive to Corralejo, leave the car overnight and get a taxi back. Get the bus back to Corralejo next morning and use the car to visit the dunes or go off on a tour.
It makes a nicer start to the evening than going by bus, and gives you a head start on your next day out.
It's the sort of thing we do a lot at home, leaving a vehicle somewhere away from home till we need it again. Confuses the hell out of nosey neighbours, too.

I'm afraid you are on a hiding to nothing getting from El Cotillo to Corralejo after the last bus goes at 8 p.m.
Only a few taxis visit El Cotillo from Corralejo and they rarely wait around after dropping their passengers.

Your best bet would be to pre-book one with a Corralejo taxi company.
