Title: Movistar router slow
Post by: gills4eva2 on February 16, 2014, 00:37:15 AM
Hi, i currently have two routers in different locations and since tuesday have been getting a download speed of 0.1M. Any ideas of how to rectify this would be gratefully received as i now have no idea after trying everything i know.

Unplug them, wait a few mins, plug back in.  Check you have the latest firmware and software to run them.

What routers? What speed did you have before? What reported speed is the router saying (log into router and check line stats also check s/n etc)
Difficult to advise without more info. Are both routers from same exchange etc.

Have you only had issues since adding the second router. If yes you may need to change the Channel or frequency on one of the routers so that they don't interfere.

one of your routers could be faulty. It does happen.

Check each router runs individually to find out more. If they both run fine run as a single then they have a conflict.

if they both fail when used alone you know that the routers arent the issue. Id then check basic cable connections. And try the speed test on a different computer just to try and rule the computer out.

Also, if you know how to access your router menus that may help. Check the settings, And also make sure no one is Hijacking (borrowing your internet).
