Wonder if anyone can give some idea of general running costs for a 4 bed villa in Villaverde- council tax, electricity water & telefonica internet.
I believe they take the money on DD in advance, how does it work?
Is there only one water/ electricity company?

I live in Lajares just down the hill from VIllaverde in a similar sized villa to yours.
The council tax is a quarter of what we paid in the Uk.
There is only one water company on the island called Unelco.THe costs are about the same but obviously it depends on how much you use.
Again with elecricity there is only one company called Endesa the cost of power is slightly higher than in the Uk but you may well use less due to the weather as you don't need it for heating.
Both companies use the DD system but not in advance. Elecricity is paid every two months.
Internet is expensive at €50 per month and comes through telefonica in our area.
