Back over in a couple of weeks time. Off plane, dump luggage, out to lunch. Any recommendations in Corralejo? We like fish and a sea view. I have read the Restaurant Section but places change so up to date info would be great. Wouldn't normally ask as part of the fun is going around everywhere finding out for ourselves but wont have time - will be starving ;) Cheers Guys

Did have a brief look at T.A. prior to posting but hard to pin point which actually are on the front as their map is a bit loose. Also was hoping for local knowledge thus avoiding the "On Annual Vacation, Open in 2 Weeks" scenario. Even worse "Closed Down" which, as we unfortunately know, isn't impossible even for places that were once doing very well.
Any more suggestions appreciated. BTW forgot to say, must have draft Spanish beer for Mr. GSD :)
If you have a car, drive to Los Molinos & try Restaurant Casa Pon. It's very basic, but they do good fish & you can watch the Atlantic batter Fuerty's West coast while you eat
El Anzuelo. Definitely. A great place, by the harbour. Locally owned and run. Actually, a sister reastaurant to the excellent Las Marisma in El Cotillo.
Considering it's high-profile position, it isn't too 'commercial' or mass market.
They are very proud of their food, whereas, for a lot of the places along there it's simply just to make money, here it really is all about the food.
It was our first visit, but we're definitely going back in future years.
Although neither of us chose fish, we're sure it'll be excellent judging from what went to the other tables.
You can sit inside, or across the walkway to the covered tables riight on the waterfront.
Not unduly expensive, though don't forget, 'You don't get what you don't pay for'
Give it a try. Can't tell you about the draught beer though.
Oh - if we are driving, has to be Ajuy. National Monument scenery, historic quay and caves, three good restaurants to choose from, etc, etc. The Atlantic Ocean - next stop Miami Beach, Florida
You will also catch a glimpse of our Remembrance Day poppies on the cliff top

El Anzuelo looks like just what we are after. Thanks Ileswing. Is it on the corner where the Coka Cola shack run by the two ladies used to be (loved how they got their electric wired up to the local street lamp) ? It looks like it and I seem to remember it from last visit. As for "you don't get what you don't pay for" couldn't agree more. We always go for quality, not quantity and quite happy to pay for what we get.

If you want a sea view and to be able to sit in the sunshine on your first day why not just head to the harbour and pick a restaurant, I haven't had a bad meal in any of them.

Yes, I think that's the corner where they were. And we ate lunch there in October

Thanks simmy. We have been to Fuerte on and off for 35 years (god am I really that old!!). I think this will be our 25th visit. I can tell you we have had some wonderful meals and some really awful on the sea front. In fact I think the worse meal I have ever had was there one evening. The first day is always the most exciting for us, we catch up with old fiends and see what's going on, so I really do try to make it go well. The following 13 days we go with the flow. I really should wear my glasses, Lol. El Andaluz is in Old Town on the same street as Rogues Gallery, they serve wonderful food, they only have about 8 tables so booking is recommended and they only open in the evening

LA Dovela has recently moved to the sea front by Corralejo beach hotel. Not eaten at this venue, but the seafood in the old place was superb.

They have excellent English, and I would think they do double sittings, we normally eat at about 8 ish and have never had any trouble getting a booking. They do a lovely "Champagne cocktail" made with Cava on arrival and I noticed this year they have a "menu of the day" which is about €19 for 3 courses, we didn't eat off the menu of the day but it looked good from what I saw other diners eating.
