Nine in ten passengers say reclining seats on short-haul flights should be banned
Survey by Skyscanner quizzed 1,000 flyers and 900 cabin crew
Results showed people were selfish when it came to pushing back chairs
Nearly three quarters would, even if the person behind was pregnant
Eighty per cent would not care if the passenger was elderly
More than half called for ban to be extended to longer journeys

Couldn't agree more. Inconsiderate without a thought for the poor person behind them.
7years ago on an are lingus flight to fuerte, one of those in considerate basturds sat in fronton me while I had my 2 month old grandson on my lap and just slammed his seat back on top of me my wife my grandson and my daughter. They should be banned
Just one of the reasons I love Ryanair..no reclining seats on their planes..plus more leg room ;D
For the amount of extra room you get for reclining it really isn't worth it ? I don't get the point....Sooner they ban them the friggin better for me.....
I can't recall Thomas Cook having recliners for a good few years now, so who actually does have them for short hauls nowadays?
But yes I an another who was deliriously happy when they locked them upright. Nothing worse than looking at someones head full of dandruff and your trying to eat lol, never mind the limited space to breath ;D

TC had reclining seats on our last trip in April this year... I know coz the woman in front of us with her fake Louis Vuitton hand luggage had to recline her seat and also her little Johnny's (or whatever he was called)
The seat design only allows for sitting primly upright, hands folded demurely on lap. Witness the contortions some passengers go through just to gain a few minutes sleep. There`s the head back gob open dribbler, guaranteed to induce sniggers from the adjacent passengers. The head on tray posture, a really desperate attempt this, only possible for kids. (And Jimmy Krankie). For window seat passengers there is the head bent over to bounce off the window frame and inflict the worst stiff neck you ever had. Leaning on your fellow passenger will earn you a sharp dig in the ribs, especially if you don`t know them, more so if they are the same sex. Really tiny girlie types can curl up on the seat but it doesn`t look comfortable to me, however flexible they are. Finally there is the faintly ridiculous inflatable neck cushion, looks as if you have a huge goitre on your neck and doesn`t stop the slow inexorable slide towards your neighbour who, if he has anything about him, will promptly jab the cushion with a pin., take an extra point if it explodes with a loud bang.
Nicely put ZZ.
On a 4 hour flight, I fail to see the need for someone to recline their seat, just because they can do. If there was enough room between seats, OK.
I was reading a book once, when the book suddenly shot 6 inches closer to me, making it impossible to read. I complained to the Trolly Dolly, but she just shrugged her shoulders. The book had to go back in my bag, leaving me steaming for the next 2 hours. :'(

Oh ZZ, I laughed my head off, I see these people every flight I take, not just Fuerte, I fear my wife is the head on the tray and I can be the head back snoring (but not dribbling) listening to my music.

I agree Hev. Anothe first for St Michale and I bet he dident need the Daily Mail/Skyscanner or Which/What mag. to work it out for him. I have often wondered if the sick that never made it to the sick bag finished up in the pocket of the seat.

LOL
came over to fuerte 2 weeks ago on a thomas cook flight.there was a very tall man who was already wedged in his seat, when the woman in front reclined her seat.the mans wife politely asked the woman to unrecline her seat, explaining how uncomfortable it was for her husband.she received abuse off the reclining womans friend, and it almost kicked off big style.the stewardess intervened, saying the woman had every right to recline, and they should all grow up.i agree all seats should be non-reclinable,i had great sympathy for the tall man who had a horrible 4 hour flight.
You recline your seat into my face. If I'm not quick enough to shove it straight back up then a simple swap with my daughter of 8 is on the cards. By the way my love, you can kick the back of the chair in front of you as much as you like. Every time you can get the person in front to look at you or me and moan, I'll give you a pound.
you should hire your daughter out SN7.There would be lots of takers. :)
