Title: Disappointed with Mal Nombre.
Post by: Libwindram on October 01, 2013, 09:36:01 AM
We've been visiting Mal Nombre for many years. We've always loved the quiet relaxed atmosphere on the beach. Since the beach restaurant has moved, so have the sun beds. There is a sun bed take over, occupying all the best places on the beach. Unfortunately the chipmunks have moved...yes...they are almost all gone. The thriving little community of very sociable Squirrels, which have entertained us for years, are gone. The two crows are still there, but are chased by the lad who collects money for sun beds.

We got back last night from a 10 day stay on the island, and we spent about 5 of those days at Mal Nombre.  It's a lovely beach.  As for the sunbeds, I don't know which parts you consider to be the "best places", but if you head north of the Tierra Dorada restaurant there's stacks of soft golden sand.

I agree, still plenty golden sand, but the sheltered area to the south has been taken over by sunbeds...and
sadly no chipmunks.
