As we say in Southern California, "Don't sweat it, dude."  A few years ago I used this forum to attempt to find free hikers - those who enjoy hiking in the nude. The response was...diverse. Most ignored me (insert what you believe they may have been thinking), some contacted me, but for reasons NOT related to hiking, and those who contacted me here were very pleasant, but simply had no interest in being active. For me, being in Fuerteventura is more than sitting on the beach, it is being active, and sadly, the intersection of nudists and physical activity is pretty small on this forum.

So I did my hikes and contributed reports on hikes to this forum, several of which have been picked up by other forums. But because I'm a douche-bag, or not from the UK, or single without my S.O., or some combination of these and other reasons, this forum generated no contacts.

On the otherhand, at where I stayed I met several very interesting and like-minded (i.e., nudist or nudist accepting) couples and individuals.  In short, just because an internet site appears quiet, what actually happens: well you never know!

SoCal, I have a similar situation with naked cycling.
I used to do walks but with one knee wearing out for the purpose of weight bearing exercise that is no longer practical.
So far I have not found anybody else interested but I live in hope.

Greetings JG, I very much have enjoyed your videos related to your experiences in El Cotillo, the walk for bread (I usually stay in the sand in wait until the last minute to pull on my shorts) and the somewhat amusing bicycle ride (damn chain) from your apartment. These videos allow me to remember sitting out at Maravilla, enjoying the sun, watching the folks walk by on the road, etc.

As an avid cyclist, it was a bicycle trip that drew me to Fuerteventura. Knowing little of the island, I remember the day I rolled into El Cotillo, headed out to the northern beaches and saw the folks comfortably walking around without the restriction of clothing. It is difficult to describe the joy of realizing this was THE place. I took a room at the old Hotel Maria Hierro where the old manager kept trying to convince me to spend some time with the local "ladies".  ;)  But the problem is the damn wind. While I have visited several times since, I have not rented a bicycle because bikes are more expensive than cars. However, I would be happy to if our time on the rock overlaps.

I need to get off this forum; it simply makes me jealous of you fortunate euro-types.  Or maybe I need to make the effort to return.

Saw your most recent cycling in El Cotillo. Looks great with the scenery and the inclusion of wildlife, but had to laugh... the damn wind!  Clearly you get a decent work out constantly riding away from and back to the camera.

The ride you chose out to the lighthouse is often the one I hike in the morning so the videos brought back good memories, especially the video from old apartment #9 where I can remember sitting out with my tea at breakfast.  (Personally, I haven't found decent coffee in Fuerteventura.)

Do you rent your bicycle or have you purchased one and left it on the island?

I rent in Cotillo - not cheap but we don't bother with a hire car so it's very useful for fetching the shopping from Inpescasa.
I can carry a good weight on my back cycling but can't carry anything for any distance because my knee doesn't like the pressure.
