I should have known better. Killing time on my last day in Corralejo, I fancied some gambas con ajo and a glass of cold rosé. I had previously seen the lady who ran Beach Bar Juan working at Sotavento, so thought it might be OK.
It wasn't. The gambas had clearly been frozen, were overcooked and they were cooked in just a splash of oil. The whole thing was dry and bordering on the unpleasant.
The rosé was OK.
When the bill arrived, I was charged for 2 gambas plus something else I hadn't had for a total of over 18 Euros. I complained and the final bill was 11 Euros which I paid. Needless to say, no tip

Excellent as always, very friendly staff and PR (unlike some nearby) food is very good and reasonably priced, but even first time visitorsare welcomed like old friends which makes the difference..We had sole which was very good indeed and those on the next table had fillet steak and loved it..Well worth a visit. It overlooks the main harbour with fabulous views while youare eating...
My review has been edited out by Admin.
My highlights of my experience was that the gambas con ajo was overcooked, probably using pre-cooked prawns, and I was significantly overcharged which was corrected when I complained.
Mine be edited as well. Visited 3 times over 5 years. Like to give people a chance. Dreadful.Relying on the view not the food
Not my experience, which was as recent as 2 days ago..maybe the chef has changed in the intervening time..Happens to most places in town
