After being closed for months and months, the Mirador de Morro Velosa, the viewpoint near Betancuria, reopens on Tuesday 30 July following refurbishment, and houses the Arid Zone of Fuerteventura exhibition, plus cafe, plus shop etc.

I agree TM - not to be missed now it is open again
Looking forward to finally getting up to the viewpoint, next time I'm on the island.
It must always have been Monday when I was passing that way before it was closed. Nowadays I've learned that Monday is a beach day, not a visiting places day...

Hi Paul, do you remember when you brought us all to see the mountains? Great day. I was just wondering if the new building is somewhere near where we stopped off near the wall to feed the Ravens. There was a white arch with a name on it nearby. You know me I am useless with names and directions.

I love Google Earth. It's a shame the street view car didn't go there on a bright clear day but you can get an idea of the fantastic views from there using it. The images must have been after we'd had all the rain as the island looks positively verdant for a change!
:-* :-* :-*
If it's the same day we were with you I think that was the road to Betancuria where we had our picture taken by the arch. Morro Velosa is near there and the drive up is quite scary especially if a coach is coming the other way. Haven't been there for ages but will take a look next time.
Hi Glernys, yes the day that we all went there. I thought it was near there somewhere allright.
Thanks Truncheon meat for the Google earth directions. The view is really spectacular from up there. :)
