ENERGY EFFICENCY CERTIFICATES
a new spanish law was passed on the 3rd april.as from the 1st of june all property for sale or for rent must have an EEC.the rating must be displayed on all publicity, including the internet.
long term rentels after the 1st june must also provide a copy of the EEC for all new tennants, this also applies to comercial premises as well.
all rental and sales sites and private publicity must now display the EEC rating.
obtaining the certificate is the owner responsibility.
key holder and agent are obliged by law to infor owner of the need to obtain the EEC.
the EEC held by the owner and unless long term renting owners are only required to provide the rating level to agents for the rating code to be displayed.
the fines for owners is 3000 euros, and for agents 3000 euros per property.
tennants who are not supplied with EEC,can also seek compensation.
