Apparently the police are not allowed to collect on-the-spot fines for driving offences, you can only pay by Direct Debit. I have friends who paid by this method a year ago,
90 euros for illegal parking, so far the authorities have taken the same 90 euros out of their account three times, the last time they were given a signed form to say the money would be paid back into their account within 7 days, that was six weeks ago.
You can pay the one off payment by debit or credit card on the internet which is the simplest way
Direct debits are for regular payments!
My mistake in terminology, whatever method they ask you to pay, they paid by that method "THREE TIMES" i.e. the first time on request, the remaining two times the authorities withdrew the money which they were not entitled to, hope that's clearer. But thanks for the advice, hope I never need it.
