It's a great idea for back doors and , windows and patio doors that's for sure. But one flaw I see is for the front door. Great for night time security when you are at home, but can't see a way to fix it when you leave the house as it looks as if it has to be set from the inside ? Any ideas?

You cant lock the door that you leave from Emmi unfortunately....I still think it is fantastic though for 24 euros for when you are in your property.

A. No. You can not lock the last door you leave through, however you can lock every door and window when you remain in the property, thus giving peace of mind.

It's a fact that most front doors have high-security bolts etc., whereas back doors and windows have very little to keep out burglars. Add to that the fact that front doors are most often the ones where visitors to the property can be seen most easily and it's easy to see why so many break-ins are through back doors and windows.
I'd say this is a great device for holiday-makers who can't do anything about their apartment's locks. Relatively cheap and easy to pack.

I agree, a brilliant idea though.
In the video demos it seemed possible to open the doors a small amount sufficient to reach through and cut the strap. :(
This is what the FAQ pages says about that......
Q. Will an intruder just cut the strap?
A. The strap has been designed as an anti slash proof strap. The strap incorporates steel wires running through it which stops a knife cutting it. In most illegal entry scenarios one can be sure that when the MADDIE Alert alarm and flashing strobe light activates, that intruder will be running!
