Well, it's a Brown Sauce kind of place, init.  You won't find Brown Sauce in "15" or Nestor's !!!!

They think they can turn it into a 5 star multinational island ?. The tourist board will be having sleepless nights if they read this one. They won't get rid of the brown sauce brigade that easily. lol
Title: Re: trafalgar
Post by: whyme on March 25, 2013, 10:11:06 AM
Like I say Stedge, the brown sauce brigade are no worse than anyone else and at least they don't think they're better than anyone else, but this island and others has survived quite nicely with these people coming for years. Roll on the end of the recession so more turn up.

I wasnt knocking The trafalgar, weve had loads of great meals/ breks there, and will be back in in a week or 2..just you're 2 completely different cuisines. Hope you continue to be as successful, you're doing it right, and good luck to you  :)

Post by: whyme on March 25, 2013, 18:13:39 PM
Sorry Hev, We've never proffessed to be a nestors or 15 we do as best quality food as cheap as we can and you only have to walk past to see people like it. I'm sure the others do a good job and the best of luck to them if we only had 10 to 15 tables you have to book with us.
I just get annoyed with people who feel they're to good to come in and eat but still feel qualified to make snide comments.

Quite partial to a good fry up myself with a bit of brown sauce on the side, and had some real good ones on the island. Can't quite fathom though how its the highlight of a weeks holiday which took around a 4 hour flight to get there..You'd get the same results nipping round the local greasy spoon for a full english after spending an hour under a sunbed with a bottle of san miguel. Added bonus being the 300 quid you would have spent in air fares still sitting in your wallet.
No disrespect to the trafalgar by the way. I'm sure the foods great.

I think you'll find they have to be in sachets by law. Health & Hygiene, tops of bottles get smothered in flies etc ..  Am i correct ???

We do use the sauce satchets Staffy, because of hygene, but we do keep bottles of sauce, mayo, salad cream etc for use if requested.

It's "Different" from the usual, that's all. But good at the same time.
If you want to eat stuff like you eat at home, then The Trafalger's the place to go which has typical British food, (the clue's in the name), along with a few other places.
Nowt wrong with that, if that's what you want. Each to their own. :P
