Don't worry folks nothing wrong with the cars, but interestingly enough, I booked my car for September on line the other evening and after it all went through, got an on screen page that said it was confirmed.
Now as a matter of security and general good housekeeping etc, I took a screen shot with the price and the acknowledgment, but as per the norm, didn't receive my e-mailed confirmation that they normally send you. So after a few days to "give them time" I enquired this morning, only to be told there was no car booked under my name :o
Now if I hadn't checked that, and blissfully unaware of what would befall of me and turned up late at night, there would have been no car for me!!
So I have to go through it all again, but before I do go back to Payless, is there currently a better hire company to go to than Payless. Not that they are bad, but they all seem to have their moments and wondered if there was a better deal out there?

Try rebooking with Cabrera Medina and see how that goes.Alternatively quite a few recommend PlusCar and so far havent seen any complaints about them so that would be my next stop...good luck

To your eternal relief you have missed us, by a week, So yes it will be safe to make the trip to Corrie but only during the hours of daylight in view of the long trek from from the back end of nowhere where you are staying ;D ;D ;D
