AEMET have issued a yellow Calima warning.
Wasn't that bad by all accounts fi,certainly not as bad as that one last year but respect for warning everyone.... :-*
The forecasters must have been late picking it up, as there was no warning at midday today.
It's going to be around tomorrow, and then cloud forecast for Wednesday.
The photo was taken at 2.45pm today Captain. Canarias 7 said that visibility will be reduced to just 3 kilometres and the warning is in place until tomorrow afternoon like you said.
I love the NASA satellite photo:)
Agree with ya on the NASA picture fi,fascinating..... :)
great photo Fi, snowing again here
Snow in Ireland today
In today's Island Connections:
Dust cloud to ease today
The dust cloud from the Sahara which has been hovering over many parts of the Canaries since early yesterday is expected to ease late this afternoon, says the Met Office.
The 'calima' has affected mainly eastern areas (Lanzarote and Fuerteventura) but its presence has also been felt in parts of Gran Canaria and, to a lesser extent, south Tenerife. The usual recommendations have been issued advising people with respiratory conditions to stay indoors and keep windows and doors closed. The arrival of a colder front from the north-west will push the cloud back towards Africa by tonight.
It's not really too bad in Caleta this morning. I can see central Caleta from my house :D

I have had this before with other pics put up from the internet, if the website changes access, then you picture is no longer viewable. I have found it best to save the picture to photobucket and them upload it from there.
Hope this is of some use.
So thats what happened.......I see they are apologising for the inconvenience when you now click on the link. :D
