The Carnival Events are on from the 2nd to the 16th February. The theme is Advertising.
Most events are held at the Recinto Ferial, which is the area just below the bus station. There will be a stage, a fair and lots of snack bars on the site.
Sat Feb 2nd - Carrera de Arre-Trankos 6pm
A Carnival cart race in the Virgen de la Peña/Leon y Castillo/ Primero de Mayo area.
Tue Feb 5 - The Birth Of The Sardine at 8.30pm at the Universidad Popular on Calle Dr. Fleming.
Fri Feb 8 - Street parades by the schools of Puerto del Rosario from 10am
Childrens Murga group singing at the Recinto Ferial from 8.00pm
Grand Verbena from 11pm at the Recinto Ferial with the groups Guajavi and Kandela
Sat Feb 9 - Adults Murga group singing from 9pm, followed by a Grand Verbena with the groups Guajavi and Bomba
Sun Feb 10 - Archipencos Regata at 1pm. Fancy dress reafts make their way from the port to Playa Chica
Mon Feb 11 - Carnival Drag Queen Show from 9.30pm at the Recinto Ferial
followed at midnight by a Grand Verbena with the groups Guajavi and Accorde and DJ Cat. Fancy dress competition for best individual, pairs and groups.
Tue Feb 12 - Festival Day in the Municipality of Puerto del Rosario (A public holiday)
Children's Carnival Gala from 6pm at the Recinto Ferial
Wed Feb 13 - Old Peoples Carnival Party at 6.30pm at the Recinto Ferial
Thu Feb 14 - Fancy Dress Competition - You and Your Pet at 6.30pm at the Recinto Ferial
Murga singing groups at 9.30pm at the Plaza Nuestra Señora de Rosario
Fri Feb 15 - Batucadas(Drumming and dance groups) at the Recinto Ferial from 9.30pm
Sat Feb 16 - Gand Carnival Parade through the streets of the capital. It starts in El Charco near the power station, goes along the road to the harbour, along the seafront, and along to the Recinto Ferial.
A Grand Verbena from 10.30pm with Fermin, Orquesta Acorde, Guajavi, and Guira Latina
