Title: Teaching English
Post by: LA on January 14, 2013, 17:17:59 PM
Hi,
Please can anyone tell me if there is a need for teaching English in Fuerteventura.

I have a diploma in early years child education and at the present work as a teaching assistant in a reception class, in England.

I am thinking of  studying for a TEFL certificate, which would enable me to teach English abroad and wondered if anyone one  on the forum is doing the same kind of work. If so please can they give me any tips on applying  for work.

Thanks Linda

I teach English to Spanish adults and children in Caleta de Fuste and Puerto.

Many Spanish people realise the need to be able to achieve a good level of English to help them in their careers/jobs.

Although I'm a qualified teacher, it is word of mouth, rather than qualifications, that leads to work.

Most adults/children want lessons between 4pm and 7pm, which does limit your earnings potential.

Thank you  for your reply. I will have to put the feelers out next time we come over. I like the idea of only working a couple of hours a day lol.
