Post by: ANDMAG on December 10, 2012, 10:19:21 AM
Hi Guys,

We are on Tamaragua and considering switching from Movistar to Direct Telecom,

Has anyone out there had any positive experience with them?

Thanks ;D

Have had mine fully up and running for 2 weeks, both internet and phone line so far so good very helpful customer service staff and an agent based on the island in Caleta.

I have no experience of being with them, but I decided to go with Movistar despite their bad reputation. Why? Because of the things I've heard and can well believe: Movistar own the lines and if you go with any other company, however helpful they want to be, Movistar can and will make life extremely difficult, with missing paperwork, lost repairmen (that's easy here on Tam anyway!), ... Also, if you find their charges interesting, remember you'll still have to pay Movistar for the line rental on top of them.

As I say, I don't have many facts, but that's why I went with Movistar and (touch wood) things have gone very well so far. I was particularly pleased with the English service when I needed it, which surprised me. And as I run an internet-based business, the threat of unreliable service has to be taken very seriously indeed.

Are you thinking of changing due to bad experience with them?

A very very good tip do not order your adsl online with any supplier arrange your account with your LOCAL shop well i went for vodafone when my movie star contract ended a very good service our router packed in after 13 month a engineer arrived next day to fit a new one. The only problem is with doing it on  line i pay mainland itv tax at 22% only 7% if you buy from fuerty shop.
