Oh, so it´s OK to advertise Bars for free on the Forum is it ?? That should save some people a few Euros each month, advertising in local rags.
Starts at 11pm ? Christ,am ready for bed by then............. ::)
Well paddy you will be in bed if you go to nesters first and blow the froth of a couple afterwards. ;D
Can't manage to get up the steps to the Atlantico centre at 11pm, never mind bopping the night away :(
Hi all,
Can I please just answer to Woe first. I'm not earning a single cent for doing a rockabilly night (even doing a free dance class), but I would like people to know that there is something else and not just comercial stuff going on Fuerta.
I don't know how can I tell people where it is if I don't mention the bar.
::)
For others, if you like this music and dance but this is too late for you, please contact me as I'm always interested in meeting people with similar interests. And if you have any idea where we could do some boppin a bit earlier I really am open to all suggestions. Thanks
:)
Maja
Hi Maya,
"I don't know how can I tell people where it is if I don't mention the bar."
Well you could try paying for an advert, and then charge people a small fee in order to pay for it. This is what other people have to do. Otherwise the Forum would be full of people plugging their Bars. There are lots of bars making no money, but still paying for adverts in local newspapers in order to try and bring people in.

Nothing is stopping them from posting here though...
Ok guys
I guess I never looked it from this point of view and I completely understand your position.
As someone who doesn't own a business (or works for a bar) and does this out of love for music and dance and not for money I just didn't think it would be perceived as advertising for a bar.
In future I will not "abuse" this forum anymore. ::)
But I just can't do "You wanna have free dance lesson? But I can't tell you where cause then I have to pay and it won't be free anymore".
I'm not giving up though hehe, I just love it too much so I'm gonna keep doing it for free and finding a way to let people know.
Love to all

Hev, Big mel had to pay for an advert in El Sol for her Salsa Dancing Classes. By charging people a couple of Euros paid for the advert. She made nothing for herself.
Whether it´s free or not, once you mention the name af a Bar, it´s an advert. End of.
Good luck Maya don`t let people who don`t understand that some people are willing to give their own time and skills to others as they are kind hearted without seeking a financial reward. As you are not running it as a business I for one see no harm in mentioning where you are holding the lessons. If you were seeking payment woe would have a point. Maybe other bar owners might actual start picking up your idea and offer free dance lessons to entice punters then they could pay for adverts in the extra trade it might encourage.

Rubbish !!!
Some harsh comments on here and yes I understand both sides to this argument but let's give Maya a break here and the benefit of doubt.
If she isn't charging anything and just wants to get people together to do something different then where is the harm in posting it on here? Obviously a venue is needed so its difficult to tell people where to meet up unless she had stated "meet outside the Atlantico centre and we will go on from there"
BTW - good to see you back Hev, hope all is well :-) xx
