Former Local Police recently arrested three people, two men and a woman, for an alleged crime of burglary in a resort of Caleta de Fuste, where on Friday stole several objects in the pool and in some apartments. The investigation conducted by several officers of the Local Police of Antigua and citizen collaboration allowed for detention on the same day of the event.
Rapid policing allowed initially locate one of the men, VLS, about 500 meters from the scene and a woman, identified as AMD, who had fled from the store where the events occurred. Subsequent inquiries led to locate and identify other involved, OMG, in the area of the bus stop in Nuevo Horizonte.
The seized items were shown to the hotel clients, who recognized them after being stolen from inside their apartments. The robbery suspects were taken to the Civil Guard units to be made available to the courts.
The mayor of Antigua, Genara Urquía Ruiz, police officers commended "by the actions taken and their personal and professional involvement to ensure day-to-day security and tranquility of residents, tourists and traders in the town."
