Apologies if this has already been posted. I am just trying to catch up on the news after being away for a few weeks. I was in the Pharmacy in Caleta this morning and an Irish lady on holiday had a piece of paper with a list of medicines, as long as your arm. She wanted a number of each item but the Phamacist wouldn´t allow it on the same day, so she said she´d be back tomorrow.
Is she filling her suitcase ???
Panic buying bread and food stuff is bad enough, but medicins ::)
If she is dependant on some hard to get items fine to a degree, but shopping list of various items just for the sake of it, if thats the case?, isn't on.
She was a Tourist. The point is, because they are cheap, she was buying as much as she could to take back to Ireland, thus depleting the stocks for people who live here. It´s not illegal but needs looking into.
They may just do that Woe. I just thought people should be aware of what was going on in case they were left without important prescription medines.

Guys its not the case of depleting local stocks, when you order at the pharmacy they get stocks shipped in. This is the case that the Canarian government are not refunding the medical card perscriptions or subsiudised perscription costs to the pharmacies and when they don't have the money to pay to the pharma companies, then they don't get supplies.
I regularly buy my Irish perscription medicines in Fuerte, and save an absolute fortune. For example 1 particular medication I take is a B12 injection, I can buy 8 x 2ml vials for 3 euro in Fuerte and 5 x 1ml vials in Ireland costs me 30 euro plus the cost of a viosit to the GP typically 60 euro to get the perscription. Its a no brainer.

For what I buy is very small, but saves me a lot. 8)
