Does anyone know of suitable premises that could be used as a theatre - inside or outside - for putting on large productions? Caletta or Correlejo area - with the right location and set up, I would be looking to employ around 30 people - tm@tonymurray.co.uk - 'TONY MAC'
Are you looking to rent somewhere for a few nights a week? If so Zanzibar outdoor stage or downstairs in the Fiesta/Montecastillo shopping centre where the drag shows are would be my suggestions for Caleta. I think that there are only a couple of shows a week in the Centre and Zanzibar stage is not used at all.
do you know who I would contact and their telephone numbers?? is it Rafa & Raul?? if anyone knows their number it would be appreciated - THANK YOU - TONY MAC
If you ask in Reception opposite Zanzibar for George (Possibly spelt Jorge) Ortegas he may be able to help you with regard to the Zanzibar stage. Im not sure who you should contact about the Centre. Im sure someone else will be able to help you with that. :)
PS. I had Georges business card somewhere but I cant find it at the moment. If it turns up I will post it for you. :)
Do you remember Steve Cooper Tony? Im sure he would know who runs the centre. You could try contacting him through his Hemingways Facebook page. http://www.facebook.com/hemingways.bar.9 (http://www.facebook.com/hemingways.bar.9)
I remember Steve well and have messaged him - thanks - TONY MAC

If you get this off the ground and do flyers for the event etc make sure you spell "Caleta" and "Corralejo" right won't you ;)
It´s not Tony Mac who used to have a bar in Montecastillo is it ???. Tony, things ain´t what they used to be, All Inclusive has seen to that. It would take Tom Jones to fill a big venue here.
Tom Jones ;D Are you sure??? I would give that one a miss.
YES - I had the TONY MAC BAR (now Chaplains) - I have a full show now, with dancers etc and would bring in some big names (not Tom Jones) as main cabaret. I am confident that even with all inclusive I could fill a venue........ https://www.facebook.com/tony.murray.18488 (https://www.facebook.com/tony.murray.18488)
I saw Raul the other day. He was in charge of the tarmac job at the new Mercadona car park. Not sure if he´s still involved with Montecastillo, Steve would know, anyway good luck.
you´ll get Jorge Ortega on 928 163 620 - it´s reception, just ask to be put through to him
I'm thinking more of Las Vegas - casinos, golf, major cabaret in luxury hotels, punters from all over Europe on corporate jollies, etc.. If it's a really great show shouldn't it be at a really first class venue.
PLUS it needs some turn over to generate enough cash to pay 30 staff?
Just a dream, I hope not!
THANK YOU to all those that have offered support and to those that have made enquiries for further information about the project - THANK YOU.
For those that have enquired about vacancies (apart from dancers and entertainers) please send your CV to the below email address and we will contact you closer to the date.
Obviously, there is much to do before anyone is hired, not least finding the right venue, legals (including licencing) and general set up of the venue prior to opening. For those enquiring about possible vacancies, the venue will be multi-linguil, so it would be an advantage to speak more than one language.
The project is in its early stages, so not wishing to build up hopes and dreams, please bear with us during these next couple of months whilst we investigate the positives and negatives of choosing Feurteventura as the ideal location.
Having once lived on the island and run a success family bar in Caleta, I would truly like to think that we could make a success of our ambition to provide the island with a truly exciting entertainment venue, one that does not exisit currently in the format planned.
I understand though, many have pointed out, that the Feurteventura I left has changed and that I need to be cautious about investing in an idea that may fail. I can assure you that I take on board all comments and the final decision will be made following in depth analysis of all the plusses and minusses.
Despite the negative comments thus far received, I truly believe there is room for one venue, that will offer family entertainment, being cost effective and providing a safe environment. Feurteventura was my first bar and since then I have built up a string of successful bars in Tenerife and back in the UK.
I do hope that the ex-pats and the residents of the island will show support for this exciting project that will have an effect (if successful) of bringing trade to other businesses in and around the location we eventually choose.
Many thanks again for your support.

If this is anything like the all singing all dancing shows I'm aware of it will be fantastic. I don't know if The Fiesta centre would be quite right though. The Zanzibar is very nice but possibly something nearer the town. Maybe you should try out in some of the hotels like The Barcello where they have shows already. I will be interested to see what happens,it should work but the venue has to be right.
Well done mr tony mac.... its about time something opened like this in calleta. Sure it will be a success, not everyone wants too stay in their hotel all inclusive including ourselves.theres plenty of self caterers and half boarders that are waiting for something like this :D .
see you soon !!!!! ;)
I know of no contact details but an area worth looking at in Corralejo would be "The Golden Goose" underneath the Oasis Papagayo...
I would say it is the largest site in Corralejo has a large hotel above it.... not far to walk from most complexes!!
Personally I think it would be a great idea for a "show" to come to town in Corralejo..... From what I hear from holiday makers it is what the likes of Corralejo misses to make it a great resort.
I really do hope this takes off and wish you all the success.... ;) ;) ;)
They already have the Titti Trollop´s Music Hall Show at Caleta Fiesta, Montecastillo. Or at least they did. I´ve not heard people talking about it, so if it´s finished, it shows that people weren´t willing to put their hands in their pockets and venture out of their All Inc Hotels. Maybe somebody can say if it´s still on. This show tours all the Islands on a weekly basis.

It's still on, one night a week, a Monday. That is with the full support of both Thomson and Thomas Cook, et al - take from that what you will!
Gleny's point about entertainment in All Inclusive hotels is well made - are the UK tourists a good target market?
will this be a 'free' show i.e hoping to cover costs with head count and (slightly) more expensive drinks or will there be an entrance charge ?
I think most of the entertaiment is 'free' which may account for the patchy quality, but if there is an entrance charge will there be enough punters for more than a couple or so nights a week ? especially out of season.
Although it is early days and no final decision has been made - it is envisaged that their will be a small charge at the door, eg 5 euros, for which we will provide 5 euros worth of drinks vouchers, making it a FREE show. This is to stop people watching the full show without even buying a drink.
Drink prices will be at the standard prices and not over priced to pay for the shows.
The shows are extremely professional, currently being shown ib Crete at present..... a fully professional 'all dancing & singing' production - catering for families and multi-linguil - and photos are available upon request.
Please keep your questions and feedback coming and I will try to answer as many as I can at this early stage.
Regards,
TONY MAC tm@tonymurray.co.uk
You´d probably be better putting the idea to Thomsons / Thomas Cook. That´s what the above did. They are based in Lanzarote.
The problem with Hotels is, they are all sewn up with that agency in Gran Tarajal.

OMG! I personally wouldn't go within a million light years of a show called that - maybe others feel the same way. I'd certainly think about going down to Caleta for a glitzy show on the lines of the Moulin Rouge though, and I'd definitely pay my entrance fee for one at Corralejo. But I doubt there'd be enough trade for more than one or max two nights per week. If it's publicised properly (unlike most things here), then you'll reach all the holidaymakers once per visit. I doubt they'd come a second time in one holiday.
well if its a good show, i would go more than once, just same if you have a good meal you would re visit, so good luck
The main team are currently entertaining at Iberostar Creta Panorama in Crete and have 14 different shows - the plan would be to add further members to the team and produce twelve high quality productions - a different professional show six nights a week, over a fortnight.
Pictures of the shows appear by following the following link =
https://www.facebook.com/AnimationCreta (https://www.facebook.com/AnimationCreta)
I have every confidence that (with the right venue & location) there would be sufficient audience numbers to make the project viable. I have no problem with the threat of 'all inclusive' or competition - there would be no shows like this on Feurteventura, with admission FREE.......
The shows would be split in to four segments, starting early with childrens entertainment followed by three 45 minute productions...... the first being the show start (using the full production team) - the middle 45 minutes would be a 'celebrity guest star' - concluding with the final all singing & dancing finale.
With the admission charge being exchanged for drink vouchers (to the same value) it would mean a FREE show. Whilst I accept that some people won't be there every night, some will re-visit as all the shows are different over the fortnight. One night the venue would close.
This is the basis of the plan, however, I accept it may change slightly to meet customer demand and expectations.

Are you bringing the team with you or are you using local people?
Best of luck Tony, I went all inclusive last year to Caleta, that didn't mean we stayed in the complex night in night out, TBH a good show would have made a nice evening out.....
Would love to see something like this take off. It is hard to see the numbers stacking up as you have stated. However, the principle is a good one, as people would flock to it if the standard is high enough. I would have no problem driving to Caleta if it is to see something a bit special. After all, I know people who drive that far for a McDonalds!!!
