It would be nice if owners of Residencial Properties such as on the Golf Course, would inform their clients when booking, that they are staying in a Residential area, and that they have neighbours who live and work here, and that they are not staying in a Holiday Complex. Therefore to keep the noise down and respect those who live here.
It would be a shame to spoil somebody´s holiday, and call the Police and have their Rental License checked.
It's unlikely to happen by some owners. The owner of the holiday let at the back of us is so dishonest that the picture of the villa on Holiday Lets, etc is not even of his villa, it's a photo of a villa by the side of the dunes and the picture makes it look like the villa is isolated. In fact if he were to post a picture it would show that the villa is right in the middle of an estate. To make matters worse he advertises it as first line to the dunes. With an attitude like that do you think he's worried by what his holidaymakers get up to.
If anyone is thinking of booking Mirador de Las Dunas and is appalled by his attitude PM me and I will tell you which one it is.
Colinblue, that´s just disgusting. Sounds like he doesn´t give a damn as long as he has his money up front. Maybe "Somebody" should drop a note into the authorities and ask if he has a license.
The reason for not taking action is that other owners around us are actually bothered and do something about guests behaviour and it would affect them and the people who earn money from maintenance. Although, I've often thought of posting under the villa's page on Trip Advisor as he has the same picture of the different villa there. We had six rowdy Italians (who else) for ten days and asked the couple who maintain it to complain on our behalf. The reply to the Italian's review on TA from the owner, "glad you had a good time, come back anytime". I was that close.
And while on the subject of owner honesty, I wonder how many have been upfront about the building work taking place opposite villa 9-13 on Bahia Azul. They have been working on the villa next door (now finished) but holidaymakers were sitting round their pool with a cement mixer grinding away on the other side of their wall. They are now doing work opposite 9-13 and today a cement mixer turned up and pallets of breeze blocks.
I have a friend living at Amuley Mar, and is moving out because of the nightmare of the last month. Mayhem all day around the pool, and holiday makers still causing havoc around the pool at 2.00 in the morning.
Holiday makers enjoying themselves in a holiday resort now thats taking liberties. If that complex is residential whats it doing stuck in the middle of a resort next to beaches and bars. Never mind theres other places to holiday than the Canaries.
Looking at this from a different perspective.....
Why would someone buy/rent a property live as a resident in these areas when surely they must have known properties around them would be holiday rentals , move inland a bit and the number of holiday rental issues reduce dramatically . Holidaymakers , well the rowdy ones dont want to be too far from the beaches/clubs/bars etc . Residents i am sure are quite different ?
yep we want the holidaymakers money that keeps the island afloat. Just not in my backyard please. Not much of a different attitude i suppose to the local government bods. Let em all buy then stop them from renting and fiddle while watching it all crash. Even better spend untold money on a road around the best assets they've got ( if not the only), the beaches, making access harder instead of easier. If i could get a decent return i'd flog my place tomorrow without a backward glance before it all goes down the pan.
Any rich russians out there fancy buying?
Well, this could be a warning to those looking to buy an apartment on a Holiday Complex to spend their retirement, that the Isla Tranquilidad isn´t so Tranquil sometimes. And to expect rowdy Holidaymakers.
Apart from that, it´s illegal to be in the pool at a Holiday Complex after 9.00pm.
Could be a bigger warning to those who think they can have a place in the sun that will pay for itself and be a financial asset.
It is often the residential Spanish families who make the most noise especially if they have kids and/or dogs. It is just part of their culture- Spain is noisier than England generally speaking. If you want peace and quiet buy/rent a finca/villa inland.
During our extended winter break, the only late night noise was from aged Brits shouting goodnight to all their mates every night they went out, apart from 1 night when some locals held a party till the early hours.
Can anyone tell me if there is any noise and trouble around Los Arcos during high holiday season please. Also how warm is the pool in December?
The pool at Los Arcos is heated so should be ok in December. We have a house further up on La Colina and never heard of any noise from Los Arcos

I have read somewhere that the pool in Los Arcos is very rarely heated even though they have the equipment, there is a forum member on here that has a place there but cant remember his/her name to ask
we have a place on los arcos and the pool heater isn't working after a flood in the pump room. Even if it gets mended the pool will only be heated from November through to April due to the cost of the electricity needed to keep it warm. We've not heard of any complaints about the noise.
