870 less teachers next term
It would seem that the cuts imposed on the education system in the Canaries will result in 870 teachers on the dole, packed classes and an inevitable downturn in the already deplorable levels of education in the Islands.
Already at the bottom end of the table in standards of education, the Canaries looks set to plummet if the cuts are maintained. Although the final figures are yet to be announced, apparently 230 of the jobs alone are to go at the infants and primary level. The measure is being heavily criticised across the board.
