Just read that main rate of VAT in Spain has been increased from 18% to 21%. Will this affect the rate in the Canary Islands?
Don´t think so. In the Canaries we pay IGIC. Between 5% - 7% depending what the product is.
IGIC went up on the 1st July, as the Canarian Government attempts to recoup a shortfall of finance from Central Government.
Live and learn if you are thinking of getting phone line and broadband get it through your local shop do not do it on line as you will pay mainland Spain vat now 21% against the new rate on the island about 10% silly me did still only two months left on contract so i can move then. >:( >:(
