Caleta is a purpose built holiday resort for those wanting a relaxing holiday.  There wasn't anything here 30 years ago! ::)

It doesn´t take long to find old buildings, culture and history in the villages and towns around central Fuerteventura if you like that sort of thing ;).

I'm sure that lots of people would love to spend 3 weeks in Caleta! :D

I saw a goat skeleton on the waste ground yesterday, looked like that thing had been there for around 30 years

THERE´S ALWAYS ONE.
You obviously didn´t do your homework before you came here. Why would somebody go on holiday somewhere without researching where they´re going first. FOR 3 WEEKS.

When I go on Holiday, I always find out everything about the place before I go. Tripdvisor has Forums for almost every resort in the world, just like this one. You can always ask questions about the places, like Restaurants, things to do, places to go, the weather etc..
Also if you Google the place you´re going to, there´ll be local websites just like The Captain´s.

Would you go to Ayia Napa for a quiet relaxing holiday. Yeh, you probably would. Some people make me laugh. ;D

What do you mean, No Culture: you obviously didn´t go to Hemingways.  :o :o

Well said Woe. I like Caleta because it is a HOLIDAY RESORT. I love the peace and quiet and because it's small it's so friendly. Can't wait to be living there one day.

We have been coming to Fuerteventura for 15 years 2 or 3 times a year and stay in Corralejo for 3 months during the winter. I can honestly say we never get bored with it. This was our 2nd time in Caleta. Couldn't believe it the first time and decided to give it another go. And yes we do reseach places before we visit them. Needless to say it will be our last time. Ok if you want sunbeds all day and bars every night.

Peggy is quite entitled to her opinion. The first time we came to Fuerteventura we stayed in Coralejo and I hated it. We went out for the day and arrived at Caleta and we fell in love with it. We loved the quiet relaxed feel so decided to buy a property to retire to. Still not retired but visit our second home a few times a year for the last 12 years and still love it. We always visit Coralejo when we're out but always enjoy getting back to Caleta.  ;)

Been living in Corralejo for over 3 months now (God, that's flown!) and decided to hire a car last week. Visited Caleta for the first time on Friday and really enjoyed it. We thought the town was really pretty and a lot more green than Corrie but everywhere has its own plus and minus points. Nowhere beats Costa Calma and Morro Jable for me but it's all subjective, a matter of personal opinion at the end of the day.
