4 International flights have arrived this morning between 7.30 and 7.45. They are getting earlier.

Didn't we advance the clock a fortnight ago?

Yes forgot about that as they have come in from Germany.

As I am under the flight path, I can tell you they have always come in at that time.  In addition, there are one or two that come in around 3 - 4 am - but suspect these are not  commercial passenger flights.

meggie

Actually we put the clocks back

Great new for the economy, but bad for those on the flight path! Having airport in Tetir (where it was back in 70s) would be more central for all of the resorts and more peaceful for the Caleta, El Matorral and Rosario.

Thank you for the knowledge !  Never knew the airport was in Tetir.
You can clearly see it on Google earth,

Normally the planes approach from the south flying into wind and are throttled down, freewheeling if you like, so very little sound over Caleta. You will hear a bit of a din when they take off towards the north which is into the prevailing wind as the sound carries back.
On the rare occasion that the wind is from the south or nil wind then they do take off over Caleta.
Our house is under the flight path and we don`t have a problem with noise and actually enjoy watching them. BTW I have perfect hearing.

I should have written perfect selective hearing.

except that the FV10 had to be closed every time a plane wanted to use the runway. And the runway was too short for international traffic so passengers had to get off at Arrecife and finish the journey on a smaller plane.
The original terminal building has been restored and is the obvious central point of the Technological Park that's been built on the site.

Now if the airport was moved back to the original location at Tefia then it would reduce the noise problem.

There have been three airport sites. The original airport during the war was at Tetir. It was then moved to Los Estancos at Tefia, and finally to its present site

or vice versa - the original at Tefia, then Los Estancos between Tetir and Puerto
