Agree with MinRich. Caleta's full of the "not in front of my kids" brigade.  Head south towards Jandia, you'll find freedom and much nicer beaches.

i agree el cotillo is very good, usually very friendly people at the lagoons and we (my wife and I0 have met some really nice guys.....nothing better than meeting people and inviting them back to the apartment for a nude bbq
